We have partnered with sports memorabilia platform Match Worn Shirts (MWS) to auction the jerseys worn by our players during the 2026 Esports World Cup, with the net proceeds donated to UNICEF. Through MWS’s global auction platform, fans will have the opportunity to bid on authenticated, match-worn Team Liquid jerseys from one of the biggest events in esports, turning moments from competition into tangible impact for children around the world.
The funds raised will support UNICEF’s broader work to help children learn and develop worldwide. This includes efforts to improve access to education, strengthen digital inclusion, and support children affected by crisis. The auction marks Team Liquid and UNICEF’s fourth and largest activation to date, building on their partnership to bring UNICEF’s message to gaming communities worldwide.
The charity auction will include every jersey worn by a Team Liquid player at the Esports World Cup. The organization has currently qualified in 9 games: Apex Legends, Chess, Crossfire, Dota 2, EA Sports FC, Mobile Legends Bang Bang, Overwatch, PUBG, and Trackmania. Rainbow Six Siege and Counter-Strike 2 still have the opportunity to qualify, meaning additional jerseys could be added to the auction. Fans from around the world will be able to bid on their favorite players’ match-worn jerseys, including those of true legends, such as Magnus Carlsen.
The first auctions launch July 6th, with further Team Liquid jerseys set to be released in staggered drops throughout the EWC and each auction remaining live for a couple of weeks. Each jersey sold will be signed by the respective player and authenticated through Fabricks, MWS’s NFC authenticity technology, allowing the winning bidder to tap the embedded chip with a smartphone to access a digital certificate confirming the shirt’s authenticity and originality.
MWS built something impressive in traditional sports, starting from the Netherlands just like we did. As someone who also follows sport closely, I love that we will be able to bring the same experience to our fans while taking our partnership with UNICEF to a new level. Seeing our fans cheer for Team Liquid as an organization during the Esports World Cup is a highlight of our competitive season, but nothing makes me prouder than when we all come together in support of good causes like UNICEF’s, said Victor Goossens, Founder and Co-CEO of Team Liquid.
Esports continues to be an emerging area, so it’s incredibly exciting to be entering the space. The partnership with Team Liquid is a first for us, and one that comes at a time when the world’s eyes are focused on the Esports World Cup. We’re proud to be giving our existing customer base a new sport that they can invest in, with some interesting pieces up for grabs, but also welcoming new fans and collectors into the world of MWS, said Tijmen Zonderwijk, Co-Founder of MWS.
