The Esports Nations Cup (ENC) has just announced that Team Liquid and Hypersolid will spearhead Team Netherlands during the inaugural event later this year. The world-renowned esports organization and the global tech company and brand experience will collaborate to lead the team formations, mobilize local communities, and establish the structures needed to enable the participation and growth of esports in the country.

The ENC is a nation-based competition, set to debut in Riyadh from November 2nd to the 29th. With more than 150 countries participating, it will become one of the largest esports events to date. To ensure Team Netherlands is set up for success, it was pivotal to choose two Dutch powerhouses with vast experience in esports, branding, technology, and gaming. While Team Liquid brings its legacy as one of the most successful esports companies, Hypersolid contributes its proven track record of shaping the digital presence of major Dutch sports entities, including Max Verstappen, the KNVB, and Ajax.

Team Liquid began as an online gaming clan, founded by Dutchman and Co-CEO Victor Goossens, more than 25 years ago. As the nation’s biggest esports brand, the organization’s roots are firmly planted in its Dutch heritage, with its Alienware Training Facility being located in one of the biggest cities in the Netherlands, Utrecht.

“25 years ago, I represented the Netherlands in StarCraft: Brood War, and as a Dutch kid, that was an iconic moment for me. This collaboration with Hypersolid for ENC is an opportunity to give the best Dutch gamers the support and infrastructure I could have only dreamed of when I was a player. We intend to show the world that our country of 18 million people can produce the best in the world,” said founder and Co-CEO Victor Goossens.

Working together locally

Hypersolid becoming the Team's Partner was a conscious choice rooted in more than just shared Dutch heritage. The company built one of the most successful Dutch-branded esports teams, Team Gullit, named after Ballon d’Or winner Ruud Gullit. This experience ensures they can effectively mobilize local communities and establish a truly Dutch identity for the national team on the global stage.

“Everyone who knows me understands how committed I am to professionalizing the esports landscape in the Netherlands. I firmly believe in the future of esports, and Hypersolid’s journey with Team Gullit is proof of what’s possible when you combine a strong brand with world-class talent. Team Gullit was born from our passion for digital disruption and transformation. Its success clearly demonstrated that this approach works. Following Team Gullit’s acquisition by Team Liquid, we’ve built a strong and meaningful partnership. For us, this marks the next step in that collaboration. By joining forces for the ENC, we’re presenting a united front and showcasing the true strength of the Dutch gaming legacy to the world,” said Schalk Stalman, CEO of Hypersolid.
