Farewell, Nesk: Letters from the R6 community

Nesk is one of those players we couldn't let go without a proper goodbye. Officially dubbed the Brazilian GOAT and one of Rainbow Six Siege's most impactful players, for us, he'll be remembered as a significant person who helped shape esports (and Team Liquid) in South America. He became an idol to many of Brazil's prosperous talents and showed them that you can excel in gaming and turn it into a career.

Nesk, from all of us at Team Liquid, and especially Team Liquid Brazil, thank you for everything you have done!

Rafael "Rafa" Queiroz - General Manager Team Liquid Brazil

For me, Nesk is above all a fantastic human being and the greatest athlete I have ever worked with. His ability to reinvent himself, his humility, and above all his dedication allowed him to achieve longevity, inspire people, and build a lasting legacy. I am grateful to have shared this time with him and I wish him all the best in his next steps.

Leandro Estevam, Ubisoft's Esports Director Latam

Nesk is one of those players who transcends the game itself. He has always been a great example within the server, an excellent professional behind the scenes, and possesses a high level of charisma in live streams and with the audience. I don't think even he realizes how big he is. It has been a great pleasure to follow his career as a pro-player, and I'm excited to see what he will do in this new stage of his career"

One of the many moments Nesk celebrated with us!

Gabriel Cassel, Ubisoft’s Esports Product Manager

My relationship with Nesk began even before Rainbow Six existed. Nesk was a player (and one of the best) in Battlefield, playing in many tournaments that I ended up creating at the time. He migrated to R6 right after we announced it in Brazil, and since then it's been nothing but success.

His journey ends at his peak, where physically he might not be at the level of the young competitors today, but mentally he was the most evolved, and R6 is very mental. Good luck always, Nesk, in whatever you do.

Meligeni, R6 caster

Narrating Nesk was the honor of a lifetime; he didn’t just play, he turned Siege into history. To me, Nesk leaves the server as an absolute legend, leaving behind an eternal legacy that my voice will never forget.

Parker "INTERRO" Mackay - Rainbow 6 commentator

Nesk blazed a trail for an entire region - a trail that's been followed by hundreds of aspiring players over the past 10 years. While many of us will remember the near-endless amount of highlight reel clips, we shouldn't forget how inspiring Nesk was as a competitor; thousands of wannabe pros, young kids across Brazil and beyond, picked up this game because of him.

Nesk put Brazil on the map and put the world on notice, event after event. Nesk leaves behind a legacy that few can touch and will forever be a legend in Rainbow 6 Siege.

Laxing, R6 Esports Athlete

Let me start by saying, congratulations on retirement, and all you’ve done for this game and its community. You truly are one of the greats, and I’m honored to have played against you. The level of caliber and impact you’ve had will forever live on in Siege! I wish you nothing but the best for yourself, your family, and your future endeavors!

Ghassan "MiloshTheMedic" Finge, Rainbow 6 caster, and host

Nesk is the epitome of an ace in the hole player. From his days dominating in competitive Battlefield, to Brazilian Rainbow Six, and on the International stage, his playstyle came to define the entire region and inspire a whole generation of Siege players to get serious and strive to be the best on the biggest teams and stages in the esports.

It is no exaggeration to say that, without Nesk and his contributions, Rainbow Six esports would not be the same. The Valkyrie ace on oregon basement was just the start of a decade-long legacy that transcends him as a player.

He will always be an esports Legend.

Maxime Vial, Director of Esports Ubisoft Montreal

I remember when I joined Siege, Nesk's clutch on Oregon basement was the first iconic play I saw and to this day I remember it as one of the best. Nesk left a profound mark on our esports scene and while he may be uncrowned, he's a king nonetheless.

Luccas "Paluh" Molina

I think Nesk was everyone's idol at some point, whether for his gameplay or his charisma; he's one of the faces of Siege. It was awesome playing alongside him for almost 7 years and building a history with him, which could have been with many more achievements, but regardless, we're remembered as one of the best duos!
